A Homemaker's Social Life

The opinion of many people is that women who work at home and do not maintain a full-time job do not actually have jobs. Apparently, the choice of staying at home and bringing up the kids does not present itself as a form of employment, and one who takes up this option may additionally be employed or unemployed. They think that stay-at-home moms have an easy life since they don't have to work outside the home and can plan their time as they choose.

It's hard to imagine a less truthful assessment. Most full-time homemakers are also full-time mothers or grandmothers. Other people are inclined to dismiss the social duties of homemakers, although the homemakers might be involved in churches or some other kind of special social club. To me, these social obligations don't seem unnecessary. What are your thoughts?

The majority of the time a homemaker spends ensuring that the home is safe and clean for her family. Homemakers will also have obligations outside of the home. They readily escort children to school trips and parties. You will see that many of these events will have them offer to drive. These events always have dozens of baked cookies there.

Homemakers, sympathetic to the needs of children, are unique, for they are the ones who tend to volunteer as room mothers. You will find them going into the nitty-gritty of holiday celebrations, be it red-and-white cupcakes for Valentine's day or red-and-green cookies for Christmas, they see to it that everything is perfect.

As you can see, being a homemaker is very much an occupation. Duties of a social nature exist whether you are a homemaker or a career person.
